Supporting Schools in Ecuador - Chairty work / Equal Earth
Share
Traversing the globe for hidden artisan gems has always been the main goal of Equal Earth, but what you may not know is that helping others less fortunate than ourselves has also been a passion of ours since the very beginning.
In 2003 we visited Ecuador and were blown away by the immense crafts, clothing and culture all around the country.
However there was another side to South America we had never considered which showed a lack of access to many of the resources we take for granted in the UK.
This coupled with our love of their artisan wares led to the opening of our webstore with a promise to return with supplies on our next trip.
In 2006 this became a reality as we arrived at a small primary school in Missahauli, Ecuador, with books, stationery and games for the children.
Since then we have returned to Ecuador with the same goal in mind many times, as well as expanding our outreach to Moroccan orphanages and a Turkish turtle sanctuary.
All of these projects have been supported to by our local community too, recently with a very successful clothing donation campaign to help the Darna Orphanage just outside of Essaouira.
A small percentage of each sale from our website will help us continue to support those less fortunate than ourselves.
We thank you for your continued help and hope you enjoy the photo’s below showing some of the great times we had helping out over the years.
